Biography – Still in his early twenties, cellist Stjepan Hauser has performed in the biggest venues in Europe, as the soloist with many major orchestras in country and abroad. Outstanding performances in most European countries, Asia, South Africa, New Zealand and the USA, with sensational debuts in Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and South Bank Centre bear witness of his incomparable artistry.
He is laureate of UK’s most prestigious international competitions and awards and has collected during his short career no less than twenty-one first prizes in national and international competitions. By winning all those prizes, he has built an enviable reputation for himself, so much so that he has been bidden to play for H R H Prince Charles both at Buckingham Palace and St. James’s Palace.

He was lucky enough to be one of the very last cellist whom the great Rostropovich heard during his life. As one of his last students, Stjepan played on many concerts dedicated to him. This young cellist has worked with and impressed the most revered classical artists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Bernard Greenhouse, Heinrich Schiff, Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, Philippe Muller, Stephen Kovacevich, Mennahem Pressler and Ivry Gitlis, to mention a few.
He completed his undergraduate studies with Natalia Pavlutskaya in London and postgraduate studies with Ralph Kirshbaum at RNCM in Manchester and with Bernard Greenhouse in the USA.
In October 2006 he was the only cellist chosen to perform in the gala concert at Palazzo Vecchio, Florence for the late Mstislav Rostropovich, who was most impressed by this young artist. During his studies in Lodnon he was a member of renowned The Greenwich Trio.

His meteoric succes started in January 2011, after uploading a cello version of Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson on youtube, together with a fellow cellist and friend Luka Sulic. Within just a few weeks, video received over 5 million hits and became the biggest sensation in history of classical and crossover music.
Now called 2CELLOS, they became first cellists ever to really hit the Big Time and live a real “American dream”, followed by millions of fans from all over the world. They signed a record deal with SONY MASTERWORKS, got invited to tour with Sir Elton John and performed with George Michael.
Shortly after uploading the video, they made their TV appearances on the major TV shows including Ellen DeGeneres , Lopez Tonight, Fox and Friends in the USA, and Stefan Raab TV total in Germany.
